I decided to give ‘Radotages d’un Traducteur’ a new domain name - seeing as they go for so cheap these days! The site is now located at http://www.radotages.co.uk/. Any old links should redirect though to the new address. Please let me know if there are any hiccups.

Also to note, I am now with a new host - which should mean that things run a little quicker and smoother. If you notice any problems please let me know. More info on the move here.

I’m sorry that I have not been able to post many translations of late. I am currently in exam period and so any new phrases I learn are kept in my head and do not necessarily find their way onto this blog. I will however dispose of more time in the very near future, so expect to see this blog take off again.

New Design

March 11th, 2007

In concordance with my other blog, InChina, I have redesigned “Radotages d’un Traducteur”.

I am now using TypoXP Wordpress theme but have made changes to it, narrowing the sidebar and integrating a Flickr “badge” which shows the last 8 photos I have taken on my travels in China. For the time being, as I am not yet in China, I have simply uploaded 8 random pictures of Chinese tourist attractions just to make things pretty. I have also integrated a gallery, powered by FlickrViewer, which shows you the latest photos from China.

First Post

March 3rd, 2007

This is the first post to my new blog, Radotages d’un Traducteur. This blog is not written for anybody in particular. In fact, if it is to be useful to anybody in particular, it would be to myself; as a progress record I can look back on. Nevertheless, the translations, definitions and phrases that can be found on here along with any other information of interest to translators will be useful for many other internet users out there who chance upon this site via a Google search. I hope that I might save others from the frustration that I have encountered in trying to find the meaning of a particularly figurative word or phrase when translating an article or simply reading in a foreign language.
Thanks for visiting.
